This aesthetic idea inspired my pieces "Peko
Chan" and "Happy - Lucky - Milky" (featuring Peko-Chan
the spokesgirl for Milky candy), and "Life Support," which
is taken from a 1950s-era NASA diagram. I
wanted to breakdown and highlight these strange, clean images in
order to explore and celebrate them outside of their original context.
As a weird contrast, my other pieces reflect my
desire to experience a more organic and tactile creative process
-- something lacking from my daily routine as a web designer. Sometimes
it's just best to let things happen and hopefully accomplish something
completely original and unfamiliar.
